Real World Change For Online Learners

With more and more people turning to online learning to expand their skills the expectations from educators is greater than ever, and standing out has never been more of a challenge. Working with Upskillist we developed a new strategically fuelled brand direction in order to carve a new space in a saturated market, and facilitate real-world change for online learners.

While many online learning providers boast a high quality and quantity of content, we found there was a lack of empathy towards learners’ real world ambitions. As a result, Upskillists’ new market position is focused on applicability and moves to show how the platform can facilitate the ambitions of learners and present Upskillist not only as an educator, but as a learning partner for life. 

Whether a learner is taking their first step, or their 50th, Upskillist is where they can find what they need and ‘The wheel’, acts as a guiding marker to keep them on track while presenting different pathways to help them progress on their learning journey. 

The colour gradient modernises the brand and gives it an ever evolving presence which helps to establish Upskillist as a future-focussed educator, while the extended brand colour palette does the heavy lifting with communications in order to enhance familiarity and legibility.

Studio BND took on the full rebrand of Shaw Academy to Upskillist. We are delighted with the result, and during the process, we discovered new insights into who our students are and their needs. Thank you Studio BND for a great rebrand!

We developed a voice for education which didn’t sound like a dusty lecturer, with elbow patches to boot. We decided Upskillist needed to be a coach, and consequently we looked at brands like Nike, Peloton and Garmin to help develop approachable and motivational language, loaded with personality and with a few emoji’s thrown in for good measure.

Authentic and relatable imagery plays a crucial role in elevating the learners journey and the brand. Users should be able to see themselves in the environments and be excited by the prospect of learning new skills.

Finally, we worked in collaboration with the Upskillist team to implement the new brand assets across their website, while also proposing and designing new visual layouts on key pages for both B2C and B2B audiences.
